MT ‘Scimitar' Propellor improves performance

The new MT ’Scimitar' propellor, recently certified on the DR401 brings big performance gains:

  • Take-off roll is reduced by 20% to 22%;
  • Take-off distance to 15 metres height is reduced by 18% to 20%;
  • Climb in ISA conditions:
    • at 8,000 feet is improved by 6% to 7%;
    • between 8,000 feet and 12,000 feet is improved by 8% to 10%;
  • Even quieter than before.

The ground roll of the DR401 155S at MTOW of 1,100 kg is now only 214 m on dry tarmac in ISA conditions; 45% less than a Diamond NG (390 m), 38% less than a Piper DX (346 m), 31% less than a Cirrus SR20 (313 m) and 12% less than a Tecnam P2010 (245 m).

The new 190/169 blades can be retrofitted to existing MTV/6/A/187/129 propellors fitted to the 155 hp diesel engined Robins with the blade tips coloured to choice.
