Abergavenny airfield and The Hardwick
Visited in September 2020
The Hardwick is located only 300 metres north of the airfield entrance, directly opposite the 15 threshold. There is a footpath from the north end of the airfield so there is no need to walk along the B4598.
Modernised, it still retains the character of a traditional country pub. It has a bar, an excellent restaurant, plentiful seating both inside and out, rooms, and is dog friendly. You can have a full meal or just snack on starters—or desserts!
Abergavenny airfield is a welcoming, very well maintained grass strip. There are trees at the north end and along the western border, and a hedge at the south end. Visitors are asked particularly not to overfly the house 350 metres south east of the 33 threshold and to keep circuits to the West.
